Pool Reserves 5
Hampsthwaite 0
ON a day that saw most matches cancelled due to bad weather Pool Reserves entertained Hampsthwaite. Pool started brightly with plenty of passing out to the wingers, G Evans and Forbes, who were whipping crosses into the opposition's area for the strikers to get on the end of.
It took a while before the first attack was completed with a superb strike by Joyce half-an-hour into the game. Pool then began throwing men forward with some confident attacking play but nearly got caught out on the odd counter-attack.
In the second-half Pool upped the tempo and went on an attacking rampage. With the wind behind Pool, Hampsthwaite's defence struggled to get the ball out of their half.
Balls were being played from the defence straight to the wings, where Forbes and G Evans were having a field day passing their full-backs and passing the ball through to the strikers.
An inspired substitution brought Kalischer into the game and he slotted home with his second touch. Joyce scored his second goal with a solo run then Roberts smashed a screamer of a shot which rebounded off the crossbar, hit the 'keeper and went in.
Stylish runs from the right-wing by Forbes could have got the scores into double figures but the goal would not come, not even when he hit the bar. Joyce finished the game in style by completing his hat-trick. Match Point went to Bumby.
