A company which planned to demolish a derelict school in Liversedge is now hoping to convert it into offices.
Britannia Construction, ow-ner of the former National School in Halifax Road, High-town, has applied to Kirklees Council for permission to convert a disused joiner's workshop inside the listed building.
The Telegraph & Argus reported earlier that Kirklees councillors refused Britan-nia's application to demolish the historic building, which is believed to have connections with the Bronts.
The developer had planned to build two detached houses in its place. At the time of the refusal, Max Rathmell, chairman of Spen Valley Civic Society, said he hoped the owners would change the use.
A decision on the latest scheme will be made by the Council's planning department.
