CHRIS LOFTUS has set a new half-marathon record for Keighley & Craven Athletics Club.
Chris, who was winner of the KN's Race-within-a-Race during the Great North run last year, turned on an impressive performance during a race at York last weekend.
The 'Brass Monkey' half marathon was won by Otley AC's Ian Fisher, but Loftus ran a storming 69mins 30secs to finish third.
He is the first member of the Keighley club, formed when the old Keighley Road Runners and Hill Runners clubs merged in 1998, to break through the 70-minute barrier for the distance.
Fisher finished in 66:46, only tenseconds down on his own course record.
