Many poor people in Bradford Metropolitan District will be badly hit by the council's decision to charge everyone for home helps, the Bradford branch of the British Association of Social Workers has warned. The 50p a week charge is being raised even on people whose only source of income is supplementary pension.

Bradford Corporation Baths Committee has had second thoughts about asking that children should be barred from wrestling shows at the Windsor Halls. The recommendation that the Licensing Justices should be asked to consider prohibiting the attendance of persons under 16, as a condition of the licence, was withdrawn at the February Council meeting for further consideration, and the committee now proposes to drop the matter.
