A long-serving member of the kitchen staff at Long Lee Primary School has served her last school dinner.
Doreen Nixon, 60, spent 24 years on the site, both as Long Lee Primary School and the former Swire Smith Middle School.
Head teacher Louise Smith said: "Doreen is renowned for her efficiency and is excellent at her job. She will be missed by pupils and staff alike.
"She served up scrumptious meals and her standards were first class. She was head of a very happy team and we wish her good luck for the future."
Mrs Nixon, who started as a general kitchen assistant and left as unit manager, was presented with a long-service award from the school governors and cards and gifts from the children and staff.
She said: "I have really enjoyed my time here. It's been great working with such a good team and I've enjoyed coming into work every day.
"I will miss everyone at the school but am looking forward to my retirement!"
Mrs Nixon is a keen walker and says she can't wait to break in a new pair of walking boots.
