Former Keighley woman Jackie Daniel, 38, has been appointed chief executive of the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic District Hospital NHS Trust in Oswestry.
Jackie is a former student at Greenhead School, where she was head girl.
After leaving school she went to Keighley Technical College on a pre-nursing course, and then did her training at Airedale General Hospital at Steeton.
During her time there she worked on Ward 3 as a junior sister and Ward 15 as a sister, gaining experience in both medical and surgical procedures.
In 1991 she gained a BSc in nursing studies and was appointed as project nurse with the Calderdale Health Care NHS Trust, before being seconded to the Institute of Nursing at Leeds University as project manager.
Jackie was awarded an MA in quality assurance in health and social care from the Nuffield Institute in Leeds in 1995.
She then moved to the Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Montagu Hospital NHS Trust as executive director of nursing services, a position she has held for the last seven years.
In 1999 she was appointed as 'Nurse Champion' to lead the Trent Regional Taskforce which aimed to improve conditions in the NHS. Jackie's parents are Lesley and John Daniel, who live in Riddlesden.
