An important new biography with Bront links is published this month.
The book charts the life of Mary Taylor, who was one of Charlotte Bront's closest friends.
The friendship stretched from their school days right through until Charlotte's death, and influenced the famous literary sister's novels.
Mary Taylor lived at Red House - now a museum - in Gomersal, where the book will be officially launched on April 13 (1.30-3.30pm). Author Joan Bellamy will be signing copies.
The book - the full title of which is "More Precious Than Rubies, Mary Taylor - Friend of Charlotte Bront; Strong-minded Woman" - will be available that day at £10, rather than at the normal retail price of £11.50.
Helga Hughes, museum officer at Red House, said: "This excellent biography of a uniquely interesting woman has been long awaited.
"It is important from two points of view.
"Firstly because of the insights it gives into the 'Bront story', but mainly through its portrayal of Mary Taylor's independent life, her important, original ideas and her contribution to the discussion about the woman's place in 19th century society."
