Three of Britain's best known folk and acoustic musicians are combining their talents in a unique show thanks to an initiative by Haworth-based Spiv Promotions. Anna Ryder, Bob Fox and Steve Tilston will be appearing in concert at the Haworth Parkside Social Club on Saturday, 6 at 8pm.
All three have strong solo careers and are linked by having performed with legendary folk/rock band Fairport Convention, hence the show's title -- The Fairport Supporters Tour. All artists will perform solo spots and will join together in the second half to perform specially arranged material.
"We are delighted to be playing in Haworth" says Anna. "Between the three of us, we must have visited nearly every corner of the UK. Steve of course lives locally so we are sure to have a really enthusiastic audience."
Anna Ryder is a prolific songwriter and composer having studied music at the Guildhall and at York University. She plays several instruments including keyboards, guitar and accordion and has worked with Ian Anderson, Richard Thompson, Chris White and Julie Matthews and Eddi Reader.
Bob Fox, who plays guitar and mandolin, has been a professional musician for 25 years. As well as pursuing a solo career he has worked with several other musicians, including Stu Luckley with whom he produced two highly praised albums.
Steve Tilston is a noted songwriter whose compositions have been performed by many artists including Fairport Convention. He has worked with John Renbourn, Maggie Boyle, Maartin Allcock and Pete Zorn and has also collaborated with Ballet Rambert.
