Oxenhope Recreation were hosts to neighbours Bronte Wanderers and were looking to extend their winning run.
Recreation started the better of the two sides and began to create chances, but once Bronte settled they came into the match and shook Oxenhope when they took advantage of sloppy defending to take the lead. They held onto the lead until the second half despite some threatening breaks from Oxenhope.
It took a move early in the second half to unlock the Bronte defence with David Collier grabbing the finishing touch for the equaliser. The goal brought Oxenhope back into the match and quickly went ahead through Stephen Murray with a glancing header from a corner. Oxenhope were now well on top and scored a third through substitute Mark Carr to round off a good second half performance and keep pressure on LMS at the top of the table.
In Division One Cowling FC were looking to halt the title rush of Bronte Wanderers Reserves, while Wanderers were just glad to be back in league action after many weeks.
The South Craven side raced into a 3-0 lead but second half injuries reduced them to 10 men and Bronte took their chance to grab a 4-3 victory. Scorers for Cowling were S Sugden, Kelly, Anderton and Alistair McEwan.
Oxenhope Recreation Reserves took another step towards Division One with a 6-0 defeat of Bradley Reserves. They were in command for the start and once they adapted to a bumpy pitch, quite a change from the mud of recent weeks, they began to play some good football.
Two goals from Chris Day and one from young Jonathan Coates gave Oxenhope a 3-0 interval lead. Coates was also on hand early in the second half to make it 4-0.
Bradley battled valiantly but were never any threat to the league leaders and further goals from Ben White and Lee Collins made it a very profitable afternoon's work for Oxenhope who are within a couple of points of promotion.
Sutton made it to the final of the Division Two Cup when they beat Waddington, but it was far from easy. They survived a lot of early pressure and were a goal down at half time, after the break they took the game to the Ribble Valley side with Dane Middleton scoring twice to book their place against Barrowford United in the final.
