THE area's biggest sporting festival is due to take place in June with a bumper package of sporting events on the drawing board.

The second SportKarnival is to take place at Oakbank Sports College as part of the annual Keighley Festival and organisers are determined to make it bigger and better than ever.

Over 40 sporting and recreational activities will be included in the event this year, from archery to tug-o-war.

The list includes soccer, netball, athletics, golf, rugby, table tennis, hockey, curling, cricket, martial arts, gymnastics, cycling, climbing, tennis, asian sports, fishing, bowling, basketball and motorsport.

During the action-packed day there will also be a 'Commonwealth Games' competition with primary schools from across the district representing countries which will be taking part in the Manchester Games.

The Karnival will also include a number of other attractions including a sponsored town walk, bungee jump, bouncy castle and children's rides.

Any clubs or organisations wanting to take part in the Karnival or requiring more information should call 011535-609155 for details.
