THE weekend saw the ladies of Bracken Ghyll Golf Club take part in the start of the season "Bring and Take Competition".

This took the format of a 12 Hole Texas Scramble with teams of 3 and was played in beautiful sunnyconditions.

The winning team comprised of H Walker, B Smith and D Dixon with a very good score of Net 45, one shot under for the round.

Results - February Medal: 1 M Gilbert (net 76), 2. L Riley (net 79).

February Stableford: 1 S Lee, 2 J Wood.

March Medal: 1 K Lampkin (net 76), 2 P Newman (net 78)

HORSFORTH GOLF CLUB: Saturday's Competition in the Men's section was The Famous Grouse qualifier played in conjunction with the Club Four-Ball Better-Ball stableford.

Sixty-seven pairs entered on the course with all 18 holes open and a return to grass tees after the winter.

Results: 1 A Parker (7) and J Pearson (4), 42 points; 2 D Vine (4) and P Taylor (5), 41; 3 B Brown (17) and T Durham (16), 40, best back nine.

Bank Holiday Monday's Individual stableford - Division One: 1 R Hudson (12), 42 points; 2 S Clark (11), 41; 3 A Thompson (10), 40. Division Two: 1 K Marsey (15), 38 points, best back nine; 2 M Sands (18), 38; 3 T Kirwin (15), 34, best back nine. Division Three: 1 E Proudfoot (20), 35pts; 2 G I P Wood (19), 31; 3 P Weatherly (28), 29, (best back nine).

The Bank Holiday stableford had only nine entries playing on the full course for the first time this year.

Results: 1, S Lapsley (13), 32 points; 2, K Kershaw (26), 26; 3, M Leddy (19), 22.

Otley's new Junior Section notice/honours board was des-igned by Tom Clarke, the small boy in the centre of the picture. He was presented with his voucher for winning the Junior Section competition for the best design.

On the left is junior captain James Stocker and on the right is club captain Mr David Hall. Otley Golf Club currently have a very active Junior Section. The professional, Mr Steven Tomkinson and his assistant Nathen Stead, hold beginner's classes throughout the summer months and would welcome youngsters and young ladies, in particular, who would like to try the game.

BEN RHYDDING: Colourful chocolate eggs were the prizes for a 'Yellow Peril' Easter Competition. The winning team was H Marshall, S Hartley and D Chappell on count-back from P Lee, D Welsh and B Watts. The March Medal, played in appalling weather, was won by Sue Atkins (40) 95. Runner-up was Jackie Carpenter (34) 103. Other results:
