Chairman Neil Spencer will be hoping for a good crowd as the National League Cup comes to Cougar Park.
York Wasps' demise has forced Keighley to swap groups, meaning one less home game and no lucrative derby games.
The regional nature of the competition could have proved a useful money-spinner for cash-strapped NFP sides, but the Cougars will miss out on the bounty.
"I hope we get a few down on Sunday," said Spencer.
"It is difficult to gauge public reaction to the competition but it has certainly been a strange time organising these games.
"I'd like to see our fans get behind us and see if we can have a good run in this cup.
"But it is a shame there are no derby games for us."
And the Cougars will face a stern test as they push for a fourth successive home victory.
Doncaster Dragons visit Cougar Park in the much-maligned Buddies-sponsored cup on Sunday, as Keighley strive for their first competition win.
And with losses on the road against Swinton and Hull, the Cougars will find it hard against the NFP 'club of the month' for March.
Coach Gary Moorby will be selecting from a full squad as his players escaped injury in the 44-12 at Hull last week. "It will be a really tough game for us," said Moorby, happy again after his side's committed performance against the Robins.
"I would say Doncaster are one of the best teams in the league, probably stronger than Hull, so the boys will be facing a real battle.
"But we are on our home patch and we have a good record here recently.
"We have won three in a row, so it could be an interesting game."
Karl Smith and Craig Horne both successfully negotiated their first games make through injury and look set to appear once again.
Teenager Matthew Steel will make his home debut but Leeds loan duo Tommy Gallagher and Craig Stanley have now returned to the Super League.
Danny Fearon, missing from the visit to New Craven Park due to a training course, is available but could miss out after work commitments kept him away from training this week.
Full back James Rushforth looks set to continue as captain.
The Dragons have had a storming month coming through to beat Swinton at home, drawing away with Oldham and then beating fancied Rochdale Hornets with 12-men at Spotland.
They also gave Super League side Castleford Tigers a tough ride before going down in their Challenge Cup quarter-final.
