Gary Walsh has his sights set on Scotland.
City's former first-choice goalkeeper has not kicked a ball since Boxing Day, but is hoping to be fit enough to feature in the pre-season tour north of the border at the end of July.
Physio Steve Redmond said: "Gary has had a knee operation, very similar to Peter Atherton, which was the best part of 12 weeks ago now.
"It's gone all right and he should be back up to fitness when pre-season training starts.
"It was a serious knee operation but together with Aidan Davison, they are hoping to be ready for next season."
Nicky Law has seen neither keeper in action.
Davison damaged his groin at Coventry two days before Christmas in Jim Jefferies' final match in charge, while Walsh tore his thigh in the
following game against Sheffield United and then suffered the knee damage during his attempted recovery period.
Both could face an uncertain future, with boss Law keen to secure a permanent deal for on-loan stopper Alan Combe, who has been a smash hit since arriving from Dundee United 13 games ago.
Defender Atherton is also yet to play since the change of manager.
He has played only one senior game this season - lasting only an hour at Norwich in November - but has begun stepping up his comeback.
