Brian Noble thought the panto season was over - until he saw Bradford Bulls lose their unbeaten record in Tetley's Super League VII yesterday.
His team pulled back from 14-0 down to 14-14 against London Broncos at Brentford FC, only to lose the match 15-14 to a lucky drop goal.
Bulls head coach Noble (pictured) said: "At times we played with pumpkins on for heads. We just thought we could get to the other end of the field and dominate that way.
"We were sending messages out there that we should get level before we try and win the game, and we had the chance to drop a goal and make it 15-15.
"But we thought we were in the ascendancy, and the players just went for it, and it didn't come off so we have to take it on the chin."
Added Noble: "We did a lot of dumb things that we can fix, but the game panned out the way I thought it would - it was going to be a tough afternoon at the office.
"We had gifted them two tries - we let a sloppy first one in and then came the interception - but we had talked about being patient all day.
"It is a disappointment, but there are still 22 games to go, and realistically we were not going to go through the season unbeaten.
"We are going to get beaten sometime so why not at London with a one-pointer?
"But all credit to London - they managed to find a way to win and we kept finding ways to lose. However, I am proud of our effort in the last 20 minutes."
