The hunt is on for a deadringer of Bradford's number one star.

A city-based entertainment agency has been flooded with requests for a Gareth Gates lookalike.

And Gareth himself has been asked to judge a competition to find his own double.

Danielle Constantine, who runs A-list Lookalikes and Entertainments, said someone who was the spitting image of the 17-year-old singing sensation would be inundated with requests for work.

"Gareth is the star of the moment and everyone wants him," she said. "I'm looking for someone who has his pretty baby face and his build and of course the ability to sing.

"It would be wonderful if we could find someone locally as it would be great for Bradford. I've also e-mailed Gareth to see if he would like to judge his own lookalike."

The teenage Pop Idol was the youngest British male solo artist to reach No 1 with his debut single Unchained Melody.

Danielle, of Apperley Bridge, said she had received several calls from top companies asking if she had anyone on her books who was a double for the East Bowling superstar.

"The last company to get in touch was Guinness who wanted a Gareth look-alike for an e-mail advert for the drink Baileys," she said.

"I supplied them with Madonna, David and Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell and Elton John but Gareth was their first choice."

She said she contacted other agencies throughout the country but failed to find a look-alike of the singer.

Danielle said lookalikes could earn several hundreds pounds a week, but she warned a Gareth lookalike would have to be flexible and willing to work anywhere in the country - and willing to change their appearance whenever the star himself did.
