Brian McDermott today revealed his frustration at missing the defeat at London - and promised a big comeback at St Helens.
The giant prop, enjoying a testimonial season, said that defeat against the Broncos came "in the best possible fashion" and could only strengthen the world champions.
"You know you are going to lose at some point in the season," said McDermott, who missed out after being struck with bursitis in his left elbow on the coach to London.
"But it is better to lose by one point in a close game then be tonked and lose your point difference, or get battered off the field.
"With that loss out of the way we are going to rebuild and use this week off to come back strong and fresh against St Helens."
McDermott suffered all week after a bruising game at Wakefield, needing eight stitches in his little finger and was left "barely able to walk".
But he recovered and was all ready to play in the London game, when his elbow seized up on the way down to the capital.
"I felt like a bit of a spare part, it was very frustrating," said the fourth member of the Awesome Foursome.
"We have plenty of time before the game against Saints, and I will be looking forward to coming back into battle fully fit.
"It will be a tough game for them against a side desperate to get back to winning ways.
