Derek McInnes fears a fired-up Stuart McCall will present a major hurdle to West Brom's promotion bid tomorrow.
The Baggies skipper knows only too well the proud obstacle standing in his team's way at Valley Parade.
McInnes was a former Rangers team-mate of McCall and the pair have remained close friends ever since.
So much so that McInnes will don the Rangers blue again for McCall's testimonial on April 28 - providing he is not involved in the First Division play-offs which start the same day.
McInnes said: "As soon as we knew that it was Stuart's last home game, then we realised how tough it was going to be.
"The supporters have always had a great affection for him because of his enthusiasm and great will-to-win and that will only add to what is already a very big game.
"We're certainly not expecting Stuart to ease up at all. That's not the way he plays, he wants to go out there and win every game - and that's not something you can turn on or off like a switch."
McInnes had to play second fiddle to McCall for much of their spell at Ibrox because they were similar tough-tackling midfielders.
But he did enjoy the upper hand when the two sides met at the Hawthorns in November, shooting the only goal of the game.
McInnes said: "After that game we both went straight up to Scotland for the Rangers and Celtic game.
"I was driving so he had to listen to me talking about the goal for the whole trip!
"I'm sure Stuart will be desperate to get his own back tomorrow and we are under no illusions about it.
"The big, big thing for us is to win promotion to the Premier League and we are only two games from achieving that.
"It's in our own hands - we know that two wins and we have done it.
"Stuart will get the crowd going even more but that may not be a bad thing. We've got great supporters who will be making a lot of noise and we're ready for the occasion.
"Hopefully we can get the result and then win again next week so that I can come back here for the testimonial.
"That's sure to be a very emotional day for Stuart and I'd love to be part of it. We developed a strong bond at Rangers and he is the type of player everyone looks up to."
