Bradford Metropolitan District Council has agreed to appoint a dog warden again and has advertised for one. Conservative councillor Bob Slicer, of Wyke ward, recently wrote to the Department of the Environment about the city's stray dog problem. Councillor Slicer's comments will be taken into consideration in future deliberations by the Government on the report of the Working Party on Dogs.

Throughout today youngsters, armed with brass band instruments, converged on Bradford from all parts of the country bound for Thornton Grammar School, where they will spend a week of their Easter holidays playing those same instruments. They are part of an experiment, which, it is hoped, will bring extra vigour to the brass band world.
