MOTHER-OF-TWO Jayne Lodge is quite literally a fraction of her former self after shedding four-and-a-half stones with WeightWatchers.
Jayne's fellow dieters cheered when she achieved her goal at the weekly weigh-in at the WeightWatchers meeting at Settle High School on Tuesday evenings.
It took Jayne, a social services home care worker, of Newby, just 11 months to go from just under 15 stone to a trim 10 stone five pounds.
She said: "Initially it was quite daunting, but when the weight started coming off I thought, I will do this. I did aerobics twice a week at home and I bike round the area with my daughter, Amy, in the bike seat a couple of times a week.
"Now I play football on the green with my son, and there's a 15-year-old lad who comes to call for me to play football! I feel great. My confidence has returned and I feel really good."
The Settle meeting organiser, Mark Oldfield, of thornton-in-Craven, is the only man running WeightWatchers meetings in the area.
He shed two-and-a-half stones on the diet plan himself, and is keen to persuade more men to attend WeightWatchers.
"Jayne is so motivated, and I am so pleased for her, because I know how it feels and it feels fantastic. She has done so well," he said.
Jayne, who has a seven-year-old son, Matthew, as well as three-year-old Amy, is married to Christian, a project manager for Airtours.
"My husband has also lost two stone, just by eating what I eat. He has been very supportive. I had a lot of support from the meetings too," she said.
