SKIPTON will be awash with colour during the summer when the streets are decorated with flags and bunting.
In a combined effort the chamber of trade and the town council plan to have the town decked out from May 25, the week before the Queen's Golden Jubilee weekend, to the Duke of Wellington's Regiment march though on July 20.
Bunting will be strewn across the top and bottom of the High Street in a maypole effect, and zig-zagged across the main car park entrance, Otley Street, Sheep Street, Newmarket Street, Coach Street and Chapel Hill.
Plans are still to be finalised but it is hoped additional bunting can be draped on the entrances to the town such as Burtons Buildings, Belmont Bridge and other areas.
As for individual businesses flags on wooden poles can be put in the Christmas tree brackets along with a 10-metre length of bunting.
