CRAVEN'S political map will undergo a major upheaval in May when, for the first time for almost 30 years, every council seat goes before the electorate.
Since 1974 only a third of the seats on Craven Council have been vacated each election, thus minimising the effect of any political swing.
This time, due to boundary changes, the whole council goes to the polls. A political swing would be felt throughout the area.
One thing is certain - Labour will not take over as the majority party as there is only one Labour candidate standing, out of 61 candidates. He is Duncan Hall, from Draughton, who is standing in the Skipton East ward.
In total there are 23 Conservatives, 18 Independents, 13 Liberal Democrats and one Labour candidate for the 30 seats.
