Bradford will be a blaze of colour tomorrow as thousands of Sikhs join in a procession through the city centre.
They will be celebrating the important Sikh feast day of Vaisakhi, which celebrates the birth of Khalsa, the Sikh Community.
The five-hour procession will connect six Bradford Gurdwaras (temples) where food and refreshments will be served.
Everyone is welcome to watch the spectacle or even join in the celebration by walking along behind those taking part.
This year the parade is starting early to avoid any clash with football traffic from Bradford City's 3pm game against West Bromwich Albion at Valley Parade.
Police have asked motorists to be aware of the festival parade and avoid the areas if possible.
Harvans Singh Khaira, general secretary of the Gurdwara Guru Gobind Singh Ji, said: "This is a procession which we take part in every year, and each temple takes it in turns to organise it.
"Last year we had about 20,000 people, and this year we have invited people from across West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and even Humberside.
"Tomorrow we will be the only procession to celebrate the 303rd anniversary of Vaisakhi in the county. But, of course, it depends on the weather how many people will come along."
After the procession, people will celebrate the festival in their own temples.
It will be led by the "Five Beloved", the protectors of the Holy Book who originally came from different areas of India. Along the way there will be lots of music and singing in praise of the Sikh Gurus, as well as drumming.
Mr Khaira added: "It is a very colourful spectacle - most of us will be wearing saffron-coloured clothes, which is the colour of justice."
The parade will start at about 9.30am from the Peckover Street temple Gurdwara Amrit Parchar Dharmik Diwan.
From there it will go to:
l Gurdwara Ravidas Ji on Brearton Street, off Manningham Road
l Gurdwara Ramgarhia on Cliffe Road, off Bolton Road.
l Gurdwara Singh Sabha on Grant Street, off Garnett Street
l Gurdwara Guru Gobind Singh Ji on Gobind Marg, off Leeds Road
l Gurdwara Guru Nanak Dev Ji on Usher Street, off Wakefield Road
l Back to Peckover Street for about 1.15pm.
The procession will rest at each of the temples for about ten minutes.
