An inspired substitution helped Silsden Ladies pull off a cup upset against leading side Chester-le-Street in the Women's Knockout Cup.
Silsden made it into the last four of the competition with a stirring 3-2 home win against Chester-le-Street, who lead their league in the north east.
They almost made a dream start when Claire Hodgson hit the post with a great shot just 20 seconds into the game, but she was not to be denied and gave her side the lead after 20 minutes with a shot from just outside the penalty area.
The visitors showed their quality when taking advantage of a defenside error to level before half-time and in the second half two of their forwards sprung the offside trap to break clear and take the lead.
Silsden were not to be denied and Welsh international full back Joanne Vasey on one of her runs forward hit a cracking left foot shot that flew home to make it 2-2.
With just 12 minutes to go Silsden brought on 15-year-old Oakbank School girl Natasha Mulligan in place of Michelle Boilyel in attack and five minutes later she showed tremendous skill to beat flick the ball past one defender and then crash home an unstoppable shot into the top of the net.
Although Chester-le-Street pressed in the closing stages and came close to an equaliser they were unable to get past a determined Silsden side, who gave another Oakbank 15-year-old Grace Duffy her chance to shine in the closing minutes of the game.
