JASON Knowell has clocked up an incredible victory in his first series of mountain bike events.
Jason, 29, from Glusburn, has picked up the Simba Series title after outstanding rides in the four-round event held in Dalby Forest, near Pickering.
He captured second place in the first of the races, only months after taking up the sport, and followed by winning the second race.
"There was nobody more amazed than me," admitted Jason.
" I had a go at mountain biking and I just seemed to do well, so I went down into Cross Hills and bought myself a better bike. Since then I have been really pleased with my performances," he added.
He finished off the Simba events with third places in the last two races to take the overall title.
Now he plans to take part in the Schwin 100 endurance event in Wales later in the summer, and is already in training for the 66-mile off-road race.
