Skipton LMS kept their Grand Slam hopes alive in the Craven & District Football League last week when they reached the final of the Devonshire Carpets Premier Cup with a 1-0 win over arch-rivals Skipton Bulldogs and kept their league title challenge on track with a 4-2 victory over Grindleton.
In the Cup they now meet holders Oxenhope Recreation, 1-0 extra-time winners over Keighley Lifts, at Cross Hills on Monday, May 6.
Skipton Bulldogs maintained their Silentnight Premier Division challenge to their neighbours with a 3-1 win at Grassington on Monday, while Carleton set themselves up for last night's Craven Cup semi-final with a 3-1 home win over Embsay.
Cross Hills collected a welcome 2-1 victory over fellow strugglers Grindleton at the weekend and then followed up with a 6-1 win at home to Skipton Town to cement a heartening three days.
In contrast, Skipton Town slipped to the bottom of the table with a 3-0 defeat by Embsay before Cross Hills added further disappointment.
Division One saw victories for Bronte Wanderers Res, their second in a week. After defeating Bradley 7-1 in mid-week, they collected three more points at Embsay Reserves with a 3-2 win to go top of the Division.
Cononley Sports also had a mid-week 6-4 victory over Lothersdale, following this up with a 4-0 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Barnoldswick United. Intake ended Cowling's promotion hopes by defeating them 2-0 and stay in third place, a point behind the leaders.
Division Two saw Oxenhope Recreation Reserves take maximum points in a home victory over Silsden Athletic and with their last match being tomorrow at home to Waddington, they need to win to keep their title hopes intact.
Waddington had a 5-0 victory over Grindleton Reserves to follow up their 2-1 mid-week victory at Silsden Athletic.
McBrides, leaders in Division Three, need to win their last fixture at Hellifield Reserves tomorrow to take the title. They defeated Carleton Reserves 4-1 to stay on course, while Earby scrambled a 1-0 win over Grassington United Reserves to stay in second place, while Intake Reserves and Cowling Reserves fought out a 1-1 draw to stay in joint third place, a point behind Earby.
