Pennine Radio disc jockey Julius K. Scragg is to open a spring fair, organised by the Bradford and District branch of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, in the Connaught Rooms, Manningham Lane on May 5. The branch's main fund raising event of the year starts at 10.30 am. There will also be an artists exhibition by Mr Brian Needham.

Nearly 100 Moslems from all parts of the world, meeting in Bradford, passed a resolution declaring that Kashmir should be made part of Pakistan. The meeting was organised by Mr M. F. Hussain of the Bradford branch of the Moslem League, and marked the anniversary of the birth of Sayyidini Ali. Mr Hussain presided and among the speakers were Mr S. M. Tufail, of Pakistan, a member of an Islamic mission to Britain, Professor Hazim Satric (of Bosnia), Mr. A. Asimlepic (Herzogovina ), Coun. Mrs L. Gardiner and Mr M. F. Den.
