An organisation which provides leisure opportunities for disabled adults has been given a massive cash boost.
Officials at Shipley Leisure Library staged a special party to celebrate the organisation's 12th anniversary and receipt of a £9,585 grant from the Lloyds TSB Foundation.
The charity, based at Shipley Resource Centre on Otley Road, provides more than 150 disabled adults with a range of services, including computer training and a library service which enables users to borrow everything from books, tapes and videos to games, jigsaws and special equipment.
The centre also provides a Thursday tea-time club, enabling members to shop for and cook an evening meal, a multi-sensory spa bath and a special library service for Asian users.
Treasurer Anne Renard said: "This donation from the Lloyds TSB Foundation is fantastic news and will be a real boost to our whole organisation.
"This money will enable us to make a real difference to the lives of local people.''
The grant will help pay the salary of a co-ordinator and launch a website to raise the group's profile.
Stephen Robinson, the foundation's Yorkshire manager, said: "The charity provides some excellent facilities for local people with disabilities and I hope this grant sees it going from strength to strength.''
