The proportion of good and bad among young people was stressed by Mrs Audrey Firth in her speech at the Bradford Rotary Club lunch yesterday. Sons and daughters of Rotarians were invited to the lunch. Mrs Firth, who is president of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Centre in Bradford, said that for each young bad person there are thousands of young people who contribute to the life of the city.

The Chief Constable of the West Riding (Sir Henry Studdy) is to receive a salary increase of £190 a year to be backdated to August 3, 1951. He will now get £2,650 a year. The two assistant chief constables will also get a £150 increase each, bringing them to a salary scale of £1,600, rising by increments of £50 to £1,750.
