Bradford's controversial bridge between the Norfolk Gardens and the travel interchange has been lowered into place. The two 80ft. spans of pre-stressed concrete, which are to lie parallel, were placed in position by two hydraulic cranes. The total cost of the bridge is estimated to be about £130,000.

Four little Halifax boys, lost on Warley Moor, were stopped, held and tortured by two burly youths of 16. They were threatened with a 12-bore shotgun, beaten with a stick and burned with lighted cigarettes. The two youths admitted four assault offences at Halifax Juvenile Court today. The chairman of the bench told the two youths "You are vicious. If we could order birching that is what you would get."
