Bradford's businesses are set to benefit from a guide which should stop UK firms losing out on sales.

Businesses lose out on a whopping £57bn worth of on-line sales each year in the UK.

UK online for business has found 75 per cent of net users do not beyond the second page of a search engine's results, which means many businesses are potentially missing out on internet sales.

To help halt this loss in trade UK online for business, a government and industry partnership led by the DTI, has produced a guide called Top Tips for Selling Successfully Online.

Jenny Searle, director of UK online for business, said: "More and more purchases are being made online by consumers and businesses alike.

"In order to tap into this market and reap the rewards, businesses need to make sure they are marketing their sites effectively so they get seen and once they have buyers online ensure they make the purchase and keep coming back.

"This guide has been produced to help businesses take stock of their online trading position.

The guide, which has been produced with Actinic, an e-commerce software solutions developer for small businesses, answers companies ten most frequently asked questions about selling online.

It also provides guidance and advice on a range of issues including: how to attract people to a web site and get it noticed; and how to turn browsers into buyers.
