The search is on for people who will celebrate a 50th milestone on June 23 to be guests of honour at a Cougar Park party.

As revealed on page one, a committee of volunteers is working to stage a massive celebration at the Keighley Cougars' ground in the summer.

Julie Spencer, commercial manager with Keighley Cougars, told us: "It is a very exciting venture and it promises to be a fantastic event.

"The venue is perfect - we have all the facilities, and health and safety cover is in place. We have a list of ideas and a lot of interest has already been shown, but we want to hear from others interested in getting involved in any way. We would like as special guests people who are celebrating on that day. It could be a birthday or golden wedding anniversary - or jubilee gala queens

"There are many ways in which people can help or participate - perhaps with a stall or entertainment on the day, or to assist with the considerable organisation before the event, to sponsor an aspect of it, or even just to donate a cake or raffle prize.

"The club does not aim to make any money out of this, just cover its outlays.

"There will be no admission fees, and individual groups will be able to promote and raise money for their own causes. The idea is to bring the whole community together, so that people of all ages can celebrate the occasion."

Anyone wanting to offer support, or get involved, should contact Julie at Cougar Park on 01535 213111 or 07890 743932 (mobile).
