Rotarians in Keighley and Haworth have come up with a golden idea to raise cash for a
day out for children.
Members have organised two rambles around the moors above Haworth to celebrate the Queen's 50th jubilee.
And they are calling on keen walkers to join in the celebratory strolls.
The Rotary Club of Haworth and Worth Valley, Rotary Club of Keighley and the Inner Wheel of Club of Keighley have teamed up with the Ramblers Association to organise the walks on Sunday May 26.
The event is also being used to raise funds towards a day out at Flamingoland on June 12 for children at Braithwaite Special School.
The trip is being organised with the charity KidsOut, which was first established in 1990 in partnership with Rotary.
Chris Bown, a member of Haworth and Worth Valley who sits on Rotary's district vocational committee, says: "The walks are taking place as part of the Rotary Jubilee Ramble to show support for the countryside, local communities and the businesses that exist in those areas.
"We expect to receive good interest in the walks and we hope that members of the public will come along and support them.
"At the end of the ramble we will provide refreshments in Haworth school room, and we will be fundraising for KidsOut."
Both walks start off at Penistone Hill car park, the first leaving at between 9.30 and 10.30am and taking a circular route via Penistone Hill, Top of Stairs, curving around past Walshaw Dean Reservoir and back to Haworth via Top Withens.
A second, shorter walk will leave at 2.30pm and will take in Top Withens via Bront Falls and then return to Haworth.
Rotarians hope to raise the £400-£500 required to take the 25 children from Braithwaite and 10 helpers on the summer day trip.
