When you think of the best edge-of-the-seat thrillers then Fatal Attraction will probably rank high on most people's list.
Keighley Playhouse's production of the play with the same name as the Hollywood blockbuster may not have Glenn Close boiling a bunny or Michael Douglas failing to keep his trousers on and his marriage together.
But according to Playhouse director Kevin Moore, Bernard Slade's thriller shares the same levels of nail-biting tension.
"It's not the same storyline but there are similarities in the way the story develops and the plot twists and turns," says Kevin, whose last outing as director was the production of I thought I Heard A Rustling.
"There is a twist at the end of each scene and it will be up to the audience to guess what is going on in the two main characters' heads.
"We're hoping to see plenty of people jumping out of their seats!"
Photojournalist Lombardi (Paul Glover) is obsessed with English actress Blair Griffin (Debbie Bowman), who has made a life for herself in America.
As the play develops the snapper's interest goes far beyond professional interest.
But does he have the motive for murdering the actress's husband?
The play will be dedicated to Playhouse and Keighley Amateurs stalwart Alan Park, who died recently.
Kevin says: "We thought it would be a fitting tribute to Alan, especially because his daughter (Debbie Bowman) is appearing in the play."
Fatal Attraction runs at Keighley Playhouse runs from Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm.
