Nicola Gates, the sister of Bradford pop idol Gareth and an entertainer in her own right, is the star turn at a young people's event in West Bowling tomorrow.
She is lending her backing to a youth initiative run by the Bradford City Centre Project, which helps young homeless people.
The group has organised a youth fun day at the Parkside Community Centre from noon until 5pm.
It aims to get the views of young people aged 13 to 25 living in the Bradford 5 area, which is Little Horton and West Bowling.
There will be musical performances from Nicola, along with up and coming garage, R'n'B, bhangra and house groups, and drumming from the Pan African Cultural Group.
A mini bowling alley, bouncing castle, information stalls, face painting and mehndi will be laid on.
Sandra Burt, an African Caribbean development worker, said: "I'm excited that an event like this is happening because it brings the community together." Philip Kitson, youth inclusion development worker at the City Centre Project, said: "We want to encourage young people to take an active part in making sure services within the area are what people want and that young people's views are taken into account."
The Youth Forum Development Team is a new project that has been set up to work with young people aged 13 to 25 within the Bradford Trident area, which covers Marshfields, West Bowling and Park Lane.
