Belper Town 2, Farsley Celtic 2: Farsley Celtic earned a massive boost in their continued fight to avoid relegation from the UniBond Division One with an away point - but it could have been so much better.

Belper Town, themselves needing points to steer clear of the drop zone, snatched an equaliser in stoppage time.

"We would have taken a draw before going down there but we feel we have lost out on two points," moaned beleaguered Celts boss Martin Haresign.

"At 2-0 up on the hour we thought it was going to be a win for us. Michael Midwood has then had two great chances and that would have finished them off but they came back.

"Ossett Albion have gone after Saturday's result and Kendal Town were beaten so it is looking good for us."

Celtic got off to a great start by taking the lead after just six minutes. Damien Henderson, restored to the front line after filling in as a centre back in skipper Paul Stevenson's absence, got on the end of a cross and stabbed the ball home.

In the 57th minute Henderson's strike partner Michael Midwood doubled Celtic's lead.

The nerves started to jangle just nine minutes later when Michael Allsop halved Belper's deficit and Craig Smithurst earned the home side a point when his shot from a tight angle sneaked past Celts keeper Liam Sutcliffe in injury-time.
