Bishop Auckland 0, Park Avenue 4: Bishop Auckland were left wishing they had closed their Kingsway ground down a game early as Bradford Park Avenue flattened their leaving party.
The one-sided victory was Avenue's fourth on the trot, five if the 1-0 win over Accrington Stanley in the first leg of the League Cup final is taken into account, and it took them over the 50-point mark.
"Winning 4-0 away from home is always hard but we deserved it. It was a great win and performance to match," said Bradford boss Trevor Storton.
It may have been primed to be Bishop's party but the only celebrating was done by Avenue's prolific sharpshooters Andy Hayward and Jason Maxwell.
They bagged one goal each to share a season's aggregate of 50, a record for the re-formed club.
Hayward is now on 30 and Maxwell has 20 after they were on target in the second half romp at Kingsway.
It was Dean Calcutt who netted the only goal of the first half after Avenue had taken 21 minutes to break the home side's resistance.
Wayne Benn picked him out with a sweeping pass and Calcutt fired in from 18 yards.
Skipper Mark Hancock came within a whisker of doubling Avenue's lead before the interval when he turned a header from Dean Martin's cross on to the bar.
Avenue were not frustrated for long and a three-goal salvo in seven second-half minutes saw them to a comfortable four-goal cushion.
Maxwell headed down a free-kick for Hayward to smash the ball over the line, Martin thundered in a shot from the corner of the area and Maxwell rounded the day off with a shot high into the net to convert Calcutt's driven low cross.
