Three companies in the district have scooped awards from the Queen.
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise, which this year honours 131 UK firms, gave a total of 12 awards to businesses in Yorkshire and the Humber.
The three firms to pick up the awards were Silsden-based Brett Harris, Bradford's Wrapid Manufacturing and Euro Direct Database Marketing, which is also in Bradford.
Alan Johnson, employment relations and regions minister, said: "Once again there has been an outstanding range of companies from Yorkshire and Humber, and from every region of the UK, receiving Queen's Awards for Enterprise.
"These prestigious awards clearly demonstrate the talent that exists among the UK's business community and I know that winning one gives both employers and employees a tremendous boost and a sense of pride that all their hard work has been rewarded.
"It's particularly encouraging that the winners came from many different sectors, ranging from companies with just two employees to multi-nationals.
"These companies are at the forefront of innovation, international trade and sustainable development and I wish them more success for the future."
Brett Harris makes sleeping bags and insulated clothing.
Established in 1977, it is a family-owned business and wins an award from the Queen for the first time.
Over three years, overseas earnings quadrupled and reached nearly two-thirds of its total sales. The firm, which sells to Japan and USA, uses the trade name Snugpak.
The international trade award recognises the company's efforts over the last three years to boost the sales of the company and also the British economy.
Brett and Bryony Harris, founders and owners of the Snugpak brand, were delighted to receive news of the award,
Mr Harris said: "The future is bright for Snugpak and other British factories, 'Made in Britain' still means something around the world and we are happy to carry the baton of our country's proud manufacturing heritage."
The sheeting division of Wrapid Manufacturing in Bradford also picked up an award.
The firm, which employs 15 people on the Thornton Road, makes plastic labelling film for use in the food and drink industries.
Its international trade award was picked up after the firm's export trebled in the last four years. The firm exports to Europe, Australia, South Africa and the Americas.
EuroDirect Database Marketing, which employs 119 people and is a subsidiary of the Skipton Building Society, also picked up an award.
The firm, based on Baptist Place, picked up the prestigious award for providing database marketing and consumer intelligence.
Established in 1992, the firm aims to turn raw data into marketing intelligence to help other companies.
