A bid by a pub to serve until the early hours on Sundays is being opposed by neighbours.
Licensee Anthony Grint has applied to Bingley Magistrates to open The Mallard in Church Street, Ilkley, until 2am on Sundays, except Easter Sunday, before Bank Holiday Mondays, and until 12.30am every other Sunday.
But the application to vary the special licence, which at present allows the pub to stay open until 1am from Wednesday to Saturday, is opposed by nearby residents.
Jeanne Hardwick, director of the management committee at flats complex The Lawns, has written objecting to the extension on behalf of retired and elderly residents.
She said: "People's lives are being spoiled. A decision to extend the opening hours is not in the interest of a community of people who deserve to enjoy their twilight years."
The hearing is due at Bingley Magistrates Court on Thursday. Staff at the Licensing Sessions said there have been three objections and a 13-name petition against the application. Mr Grint was unavailable for comment.
