Oasis last night knocked Gareth Gates off the top spot in this week's singles chart with their comeback single.
The Hindu Times is the group's first release for nearly two years and has gone straight in at number one.
Gareth's single, Unchained Melody, slipped to number four after four weeks at the top.
Gareth's mum Wendy today said: "You can't stay there forever!
"We're just so pleased he was there for four weeks - it's such an achievement.
"He knew it was time to come down - he's just getting ready for the next number one single now."
Life for the family was gradually returning to normal, she added.
"Things are settling down a little, but it's still a dream come true."
All singles in the top three slots this week are new to the charts: NSync is at number two with Girlfriend and Doves has taken third place with There Goes The Fear.
