It was league records, not wickets, that tumbled as Division Two batsmen went run crazy.

Saltaire smashed Farsley's 21-year-old record, racking up an incredible 379 for five.

Averaging more than 7.5 an over, the winning innings included Tariq Haroon's 168 (including ten sixes) and Tarek Alam 105, who put on a record 264 fourth-wicket stand.

But despite breaking the 62-year-old partnership record, the batsmen could only carry Saltaire to four points, as they took only seven Esholt wickets for 151 runs.

The other record to go was at Drighlington, as Manningham Mills pair Gulsheraz Ahmed (144 not out on his post-Yeadon debut) and A Muktar (Manningham Mills) 101 not out put on an unbroken stand of 256.

Despite breaking the 70-year-old league record for the third wicket partnership, Manningham Mills' total of 278 wasn't enough for victory as Drighlington put together 279 for three in a dramatic victory.

Khalid Mehmood knocked up 83, Richard Whitehurst 95 and Imran Patel crashed his way to 57 to ensure victory with five overs to spare.

In another notable performance, Carl Sharp built an unbeaten 107 as Bradford & Bingley raced to a ten-wicket victory in their first post-relegation game.

Bowling Old Lane were dismissed for 137 despite a Wajid Hussain half-century before Sharp and debut-making Richard Nicholls stepped in to reach the total in just 19 overs.

Gomersal needed a Bradley Parker century to help them to a winning start in Division Two.

Salts managed 245 for nine, thanks to half centuries from overseas player Kamran Hussain and Mohamed Maroof. But Parker's 104, which included a second wicket stand of 145 with Chris Schofield, helped Gomersal reach their total with six wickets spare.

Brighouse were less impressive on their return to the bottom flight, losing out to a sparkling bowling performance from Keighley's new skipper Richard Robinson, formerly of Baildon, who took six for just 22 as well as a couple of catches to remove Brighouse for 118.

Despite losing six wickets Keighley reached their target in the 28th over with Robinson completing a good day with an unbeaten 15.

Mirfield secured maximum points after dismissing Great Horton for just 95.

Overseas player Mohammed Asif earned his match fee with four for 21 to mop up the Great Horton tail.

Mark Fairburn's unbeaten 51 helped Mirfield to the low target inside 30 overs.

Last year's whipping boys Windhill suffered another early loss as Hartshead Moor dismissed them for 167. Half-centuries from Ian Nicholson and Syed Zulqarnin were not enough to give Windhill a defendable target.

Andy Halford's 75 not out was the backbone of the Hartshead Moor victory as they rattled out their winning 174 in just 31 overs.

The bonus of 35 extras, including eight no-balls, did little to help Windhill's cause.
