Furious Bobby Vanzie was today demanding answers from his promoter after his European title fight collapsed at the 11th hour.
The Bradford lightweight has been left high and dry once again after Italian opponent Sandro Casamonica pulled out late last night claiming another injury - just three days before their scheduled battle in Milan.
Casamonica's alleged shoulder problem is the latest farcical twist for a fight that has seemed doomed from the moment the Italian camp won the purse bid.
And Vanzie, who last stepped in the ring in October, now expects promoter Tommy Gilmour to fight his corner.
Vanzie said: "I am so angry about this and I don't know what to do next.
"I've got a board of bills pinned up waiting to be paid by this fight - what am I expected to do now?
"I've spent £1,000 in sparring and not fought for six months while I've been preparing.
"There is so much at stake, not just for me but also my family, and for what?
"I thought I'd seen it all in boxing but this has been a disaster from start to finish. I'm seriously considering why I bothered in the first place."
Vanzie may force Gilmour to drum up a quick defence of his British title just to keep him ticking over financially.
"I've never gone into a fight just for the money. That's not my way, but I might have to because of the current situation."
Casamonica's camp have suggested May 25 as an alternative date, two months after the fight was originally scheduled.
It has already been postponed once when Casamonica reported a hand injury in training.
Since then the venue has fluctuated from Verona to Catania in Sicily and then, only hours before the fight was KO'ed again, to Milan.
Vanzie added: "I've let all their gamesmanship and mind games blow over my head and refused to let it get to me. But this has gone too far this time.
"I expect my promoter to do something or else I'll be marching up to the British Board of Control and ripping up my contract in front of them.
"I've been getting up at 6am every day and training like a madman and there's absolutely nothing to show for it."
