Over 3,000 Bradford Scouts, Cub Scouts and Guides took part in the annual St. George's Parade at Valley Parade football ground. In his address the Rt. Rev. Mgr. M. V. Sweeney, head of St. Bede's Grammar School, Bradford told the company they should stand up for the things they believe in even though this might make them unpopular.

Mr E. N. Wakelin, Birmingham chief sanitary inspector, gave a warning on synthetic cream cakes when he addressed the Women's Gas Federation Conference on food, health and hygiene, today.
"Such cakes should always be eaten the day they are bought," he said. "If you keep a nice cream eclair in a warm atmosphere for 24 hours, then give it to your child, there is a danger that you are giving him death."
