SUPPORTERS of the Otley Maypole Restoration Project were busy raising funds on Saturday.
Members of the town's two Morris groups, The Buttercross Belles and Otley Wayzgoose, were selling donated items at the Otley Buttercross.
They were also trying to persuade people to sponsor a Yorkshire Stone sett, which will form part of the paved area around the new maypole area - in Manchester Square, opposite Otley Civic Centre.
The project has been given more than £20,000 by the Local Heritage Initiative Fund and has to come up with £5,000 more, plus £6,000 worth of labour and materials.
Anyone wanting to make a donation to the project, or to sponsor a sett, should contact Les Cross, Otley Town Council clerk, at Otley Civic Centre. (01943) 466335.
