Tasty tulips and dandy daffodils were some of the main attractions at the annual Addingham Spring Flower Show.

More than 180 exhibits of daffodils, tulips, pot plants and flower arrangements were on show at the event.

It was Addingham Allotments and Gardens Associations 21st Spring Flower Show and the standard of entries was high.

More than 100 people attended the show which opened at 8am at the Memorial Hall, Main Street, Addingham.

The judge was Rex Geldard, of Skipton, who also had the hard task of choosing a winner from the 20 children's entries of painted eggs and decorated plates.

A coffee morning was also held.

Show Secretary Alan Haigh said: "The judge had a difficult task on his hands as there were a lot of excellent exhibits, from a dustbin full of planted spring flowers to the best in show of three magnificent purple tulips entered by John Bottomley.

"There were some people who had never entered an exhibit in a show before and came out as prizewinners and vowed to enter the Annual show in August.

"We had people queuing from 10am for the coffee morning and to admire the show.

President Tom Benstead presented Mr Bottomley with the Silver Salver for best exhibit in the show for his purple tulips.
