Bradford Bulls fans have formed an independent supporters association (BISA).
Their intention is to foster a better understanding between clubs and fans both in Bradford and in
the wider rugby league community.
BISA chairman Michaela Greasley said: "We have set up BISA so that Bulls fans can voice their opinions on the running of their club.
"The Bulls have led the way in rugby league since the start of super league, but they have not benefited from having an organised independent supporters club in the same way as many other clubs."
A number of independent supporters clubs have been set up by fans who were disgruntled at the way their clubs were being run, but Greasley says that this isn't the reason for the formation of BISA.
"We feel that the management at Bradford Bulls have done a great job in looking after the club and the fans in the past six years," she said. "The aim of BISA is to help the Bulls wherever possible, but not to be afraid of being critical where we think the club could improve its relationship with both home and away fans."
The Bulls are awaiting a date for the start of the public enquiry into the re-development of Odsal Stadium, and BISA hope to galvanise fan opinion. Greasley added: "It's the view of BISA that the Bulls need this new stadium development at Odsal.
"It would be good for the club and the city of Bradford as a whole, and we'll be doing all we can to ensure this comes about."
Nevertheless BISA want to point out that they have come together to help the Bulls in other ways.
BISA's media officer Sam Grundy said "It's our aim to make sure the club are listening not only to Bulls fans, but to the fans of visiting teams.
"We want to make all visiting fans feel welcome whether the Bulls play at Valley Parade or Odsal, and that they want to come again."
Greasley said: "Although we have formed BISA with plenty of ideas of what we can do, we need the opinions of more Bulls fans in order to have a positive impact.
"I would urge all fans to attend our next meeting at Odsal on Tuesday (7.30pm).
