The search is on to find female cricketing stars of the future.
Bradford Ladies Cricket Club is looking for new members to boost the club, and aim to reach the top level in the game.
Over the year the club has had a number of players who have gone on to earn county and international honours. Although many people thing the women's game is a modern creation the Bradford club was established over 70 years ago.
"It's the only women's cricket club in the district and we want to make it a team to be proud of, but we desperately need more girls and women to come and play," said club spokesman Anne Miller.
They play their home matches at Thornton Cricket Club, usually on Sunday afternoons, from April until August.
The club plays in the Northern League with the winning team being promoted to the Northern Premier League. Other teams in the division include Derby, City of Leeds and Hatfield, near Doncaster.
Anne added: "We feel sure that there are lots of girls who would enjoy playing cricket but don't know that teams and specialist leagues exist. We want to invite anyone who is interested to come to the nets and give it a try, or get in touch if they would like more information."
The club has a website: www.bradfordlcc.co.uk or anyone interested can contact Anne Miller on 07801-844134.
