Bradford's internet community racked up a double triumph at the Yorkshire Internet Awards last night.

The Telegraph & Argus site, This Is Bradford, added another honour to its collection when it was named one of the county's Top Three Information Websites - the only newspaper site to be recognised.

The judges especially praised its strong multiracial content.

Bradford Council's Adoption and Fostering Service took a top award for its web-based campaign to seek adoptive and foster parents in the Bradford district. It was judged to have the Best Not-for-Profit Website.

The awards are presented by Yorkshire Insider magazine. An audience of 200 saw them handed out during a ceremony at the Queens Hotel, Leeds. The event is one of the most important in the region's digital media calendar.

The night's other big winner was Leeds-based Headland Communications, which was named Best Web Design Company for the second year running.

Next week, This Is Bradford, already UK Website of the Year in the BT Media Awards, will be in the awards frame again when BT's northern awards for 2002 are unveiled.

The site is again shortlisted as Website of the Year, and Web Editor David Behrens, features editor David Barnett and photographer Steve Bootle are shortlisted for individual awards.

The T&A itself is nominated for the Newspaper of the Year title.
