Keighley Athletic were party poopers when title-chasing New Rover visited town on Sunday.
After Athletic's poor recent run Rover would have fancied their chances, but Athletic put in a sprightly first-half performance and deservedly took the lead when Paul Goodwin cut-in to fire home a powerful left-footed strike inside the goalkeeper's near-post.
In the second-half Rover fought back and equalised in the final quarter of the game. Nevertheless, Athletic could still have stolen the points late-on when Paul Whitaker's lob was spectacularly tipped over by the keeper. The game finished at 1-1 and Athletic look set to finish their league programme in a mid-table position.
