Bradford Trades Council now has a new banner to replace the historic one wrecked in 1974. It was made by an Allerton woman, Mrs. Servjeet Virdee, who spent many hours on it, finally taking a week off work to complete it in time for the Trades Council's May Day demonstration.

Mr J. W. Barnett, Leeds Chief Constable, has refused to allow PC Frank Herbert Harris, of the Bradford police, to perform his bullet catching trick at the Leeds Civic Theatre. PC Harris had hoped to demonstrate the trick at the Leeds Magic Circle show in the theatre on May 17. Instead, he will give a yoga demonstration.
