Matt Page's first Bradford League century spurred East Bierley to their second win over Spen Victoria in six days.
On an overcast day, the Aussie, who admitted to being "absolutely freezing" while batting, notched an unbeaten 113 in a home score of 241 for seven.
Despite a poor start, in which they lost both openers for five and nought respectively, Andrew Bairstow and Page picked up the innings, East Bierley hoisting an ultimately unreachable score.
The young Spen team, defeated in the Heavy Woollen Cup last Sunday, were fully aware of the very difficult task ahead of them and decided to settle for a bore draw.
Content just to keep their wickets intact, Spen made 148, which included an impressive late flurry from Gary Newton in his first Bradford League game.
They got their point, and East Bierley had to make do with the four that sent them to the top of the first league tables of the summer, albeit only on alphabetical order from Pudsey Congs.
In a similar game, a century opening partnership between Andy Bethel and Vic Craven helped Congs on their way to 276 for nine at Undercliffe.
Bethel grabbed 68 while Yorkshire hopeful Craven notched up his second 60 in two games. But Congs had to settle for four points as Undercliffe notched 166 for four to ensure they took home a point against the hat-trick chasing champions.
Despite avoiding the traditional second week wash-out, no maximum points were recorded anywhere in the division as sides had to make do with winning draws.
Hanging Heaton - surprise losers at Baildon the previous week - rattled up 227 for six against Cleckheaton as Ishmail Dawood hit 78 - his third half-century in three games.
But Cleckheaton, again content for a point, managed only 125 in reply for the loss of four wickets - the highlight being Richard Pyrah's unbeaten 64.
Even with Test star Matthew Hoggard in the side, Baildon managed to ship over 300 runs at Pudsey St Lawrence.
In what is proving a particularly tricky start to the season for the title pretenders, overseas player Tariq Aziz smashed his way to 122 - the highest score of the day.
With an unbeaten 76 from Iain Priestley, Pudsey hit 303 for five, Hoggard taking two of their wickets for 68 runs.
Baildon grabbed their point, but only just. Saved by 72 not out from Tom Atkinson, they managed 168 for the loss of eight wickets.
Bad light may have saved Woodlands in the battle of the new boys. Chasing Lightliffe's 195, which included 75 from Neil Whitehill, Woodlands had lost nine wickets for 159 when bad light intervened.
Safraz Ahmed's 50 had given them hope, but with nearly five overs left and two new batsmen at the crease, it was looking good for the home side.
Any unfinished business can be concluded when the two newly-promoted sides meet in the Priestley Cup next week.
Big Aussie Damian Shanahan got his eye back, hitting 92 as Yeadon put together 194 for nine against Farsley.
Farsley managed just 132 for eight in reply with skipper Craig Thornton doing most of the damage taking four wickets for just 11 runs.
